Resveratrol is a chemical compound found in many plants. This has been synthetically produced. There are claims of many effects such as muscle building , anti-cancer effect, rejuvenation, enhanced sexual ability and even prolongation of life. Some of the experiments have been done with animals.
Resveratrol is found in large quantities in red grapes and therefore in redwine. This has led to the opinion that French people have less heart disease because they consume a lot of red wine.
So far there is no consensus of opinion about the use of this drug in the human being.
In the meantime some have synthetically produced this drug and recommending this for a variety of conditions , and these have not been medically approved.
